PATTI GUTHRIE OVERHOLT
Coastal Artist
Originally trained as a portrait artist in St. Petersburg, Florida, I discovered a love for Plein Air Painting when I fell in love with North Florida while attending the University of West Florida in Pensacola, Fl.
In high school, although only blended realism was allowed in the Art Classes, I used to take the bus to the Museum of Fine Art in St. Petersburg, Florida to see the work of Claude Monet, Manet, and Renoir. So, when I won a trip to Paris that included a side trip to Claude Monet's home in Giverny I was thrilled! On later trips to Paris I saw the paintings of most of the other Impressionists and that influence permeates all of my work from Portraits to Still Life, to Plein Air Paintings.
Having taught Art from Elementary to College level, I spent 12 years as an Adjunct Art Instructor for The Continuing Education program at Northwest Florida State College'. I have 40 years teaching experience. I am currently offering private lessons, s
Small Group Lessons and Viewings in the relaxing environment of a former horse stable, Rancho de Relaxo, renamed Studio de Relaxo, in Choctaw Beach near Niceville, Fl.

I paint what I love: People Faces and Places and sometimes I choose a subject because I also love Alizarin Crimson and it lends itself to that color.
I believe that we are created to create and my sincere hope is that something I have created will connect you to the love, joy of art and life that is within you.
